Back to your Stations!
Battlefront 2 takes you right back to the Star Wars universe, a very well known franchise that was made popular on gaming consoles as well in recent years.
The single player campaign of Battlefront 2 takes place soon after the even of “Return of the Jedi”. Players will jump in the shoes of Iden Versio, commander of the Inferno Squad, an elite unit of Empire soldiers. In other words, you’ll be playing as one of the bad guys this time.
The full story wasn’t revealed yet, of course. However, EA hinted the fact that Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren will be featured in the story at some point.
Battlefront 2 Mods
Those of you who had the chance to play on the open beta sure got a taste of the Star Wars Battlefront 2 mods. This is certainly where the game is at its strongest. The battlefront 2 mods fill the game with variety and hours upon hours of gameplay.
Battlefront 2 features the good old Arcade mode, where players will face AI-controlled controlled opponents. It’s certainly not the most exciting mod available, but it’s a great way to test out new characters. Some of the individual missions are pretty interesting and you can always get a friend to tag along with you in co-op.
One of the most hyped mods for Star Wars Battlefront 2 has to be Galactic Assault. It features a massive multiplayer battle: 40 players split in 2 teams, one against the other. It’s a massive 20 vs 20 battle where one team defends the palace in the center of the map while the other team tries to conquer it.
Galactic Assault is certainly my favorite mod. The atmosphere that comes with these kind of massive-scale battles is just amazing. I could certainly see myself playing this mod for hours and hours. Players can also gather points by simply playing the objective or getting killing blows. Afterwards, players can summon vehicles and heroes to aid them in battle once they gathered enough points.
If you’re looking for smaller scale fast-paced battles, you can also try out the Strike mod. In this mod, players pick one of two teams and fight in order to complete a certain objective. Another mod worth mentioning is Starfighter Assault. This one is objective-based as well, and it pits players in two teams: Empire and Rebel fighters. It’s definitely worth a go if you want a quick round of intense battleship combat.
The Star Wars Continue
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is shaping up to be a much better game than its sequel. The variety of mods as well as the depth and immersion of the gameplay should be enough to kickstart this game to the very top of the 2017 console shooters list.
