The top PS4 games

The Top PS4 Games

I’ve put together a list of some of the top PS4 games available.  All of these games are highly rated & very popular among players.  They are not listed in any particular order.   I will be updating this list as new titles are released that I think deserve to be added.  Please check back from time to time to see what new PS4 games made it to this list.  Also note all of these games are playable on the PS4 Pro.

Overwatch

The Top ps4 games

Overwatch is a great online First Person Shooter game, with a really high fun factor.  It’s not like most of the FPS out, in that it doesn’t seem to be as frustrating.  The way the game plays helps you to not focus on your kill death ratio & just have fun.  There are many different characters you can choose from to suit your play style.  You are almost certain to find a character that you find fun and or play best with.  This is my go to game if I’m stressed or if I’m getting frustrated with one of the other FPS games I play.  Please note this is an online multiplayer game only and does not have a single player or story mode.

Battlefield 1

The top ps4 games

Battlefield has been around for a long time.  Until recently I’ve always been more of a Call of Duty guy.  I haven’t really enjoyed the last few call of duty titles so I’ve been getting into battlefield more and more, although I was never truly sold on Battlefield until Battlefield 1 came out.  It has an extremely fun & I’m immersive single player campaign & also really enjoy the online multi-player.  The weapons seem to be pretty well balanced & I like all the maps.

Battlefiled 1 is one of the main games I play right now, so of course it’s going to be ranked high.  I consider my self a top level player, so I tend to have a lot of fun.  If you need help or just want some tips to take you to the top of your game click here for my #1 recommended Battlefiled 1 strategy guide.

Last of us Remastered

The top ps4 games

The Last of Us remastered is an enhanced version of the 2013 The Last of Us action adventure title.  It has some graphics & rendering enhancements along with some added content.  You find yourself in a post apocalyptic world, 20 years after an outbreak nearly wiped out all of humanity where you need to travel across the united States to try to help find the cure to the outbreak.  You will battle against infected & hostile groups of humans.  The story line is fantastic & the game play is quite fun.  There’s even online multiplayer with both competitive and cooperative action.

Destiny

The top PS4 games

Destiny is an online multiplayer space themed first person shooter with some MMO aspects to it.  It’s been out since September of 2014 and has had many expansions released for it since it’s first release.  It is a game I have spent way too many hours on so take it from my when I say it’s good.  I have played it since day one & only recently stopped playing because of lack of content.  That’s not to say there’s not a ton to do.  It’s just I have done it all many times & wanted to play some other games before Destiny 2 comes out.

Destiny is one of all time favorite games I’ve ever played.  It has PVP multiplayer, a story (the expansions helped make the story better) & some other more challenging things to do like Raids & nightfall’s.  Believe me there is always something to do on Destiny until you have spent thousands of hours playing like I have.  It’s an extremely fun, rewarding, sometimes challenging game that rewards teamwork. There are some bad things about destiny.  It can seem very grindy and repetitive at times.  Overall the great mechanics and great scenery to look at while you shoot aliens makes it a worth while game to play.  I suggest buying the bundle to get all the content released so far.

Resident evil 7

The top PS4 games

Resident Evil 7 is a recently released first person action horror game.  I have always been a big resident evil fan.  The stories are so well written, suspenseful & exciting.  Always some sort of challenging puzzles or mysteries to solve.  I think this one’s the best yet. It took something great & made it even better by adding a First person mode.  I always favor first person games.  I feel it is more immersive.  It makes you feel apart of what’s going on.  This game is  sure to give you even more of that terrifying horror you’ve come to know & love from Resident Evil.  First person isn’t enough you say.  Ok, Try Resident Evil 7 on the PlayStation VR.  I tried it & it’s amazing.

Doom

The top ps4 games

Doom is a horror themed first person shooter.  When I first heard they were going to release Doom, I said to my self it’s about damn time.  I loved this game on PC years back.  The graphics weren’t so great back then but they are now.  It feels like the old Doom but different, much better graphics and crazy good guns.  I just get a nostalgic feeling when I play this game.

Titan fall 2

The top ps4 games

Titan Fall 2 is a First person shooter and it is a great game all around.  It has a great single payer campaign and the online multiplayer is really fun too.  I like this installment much more than the original Titan fall.  It has better mechanics and a much better campaign.  The online multiplayer has well balanced weapons and even tough it’s pretty fast paced it’s fairly easy to get used to.

Bloodborne is a third person action Role playing game released in March of 2015.  You are three Hunter making your way through the Victorian Era themed city of Yharnam.  There’s a blood-Borne disease affecting the people of the city & you have to hunt down beasts & try to stop the plague.  I really liked this game and considering it’s a third person game, the fact it made it on my list should tell you how great it is.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom pain

The top ps4 games

This is not the same metal gear solid you have played in the past.  This shooter is in an open world where you call the shoots.  You have primary objectives but when & how you carry them out is up to you.  This game has limitless possibilities and is an interesting and fun fulled experience.  I’ve never been a fan of the metal gear games but I love this one.  My bet is you would too.

  • ‘The Last of Us’ was and still is a fantastic game to play. I mean, I’ve never been one to be an ammo hog, not even when playing Resident Evil (Best. Series. Ever.), but this game pushed my bullet saving skills to the maximum.
Speaking of Resident Evil, I feel like a first-person-view was long overdue. It’s what drew me so much to ‘Dead Island’. Fair enough, I spent that entire in complete suspense and quaked like a girl at times, but that’s what survival horror is all about. Can’t count on movies these days to get my chills!

    • Ryan,

I agree the last of us is awesome. It can be challenging to conserve ammo in that game but as you already know that’s one of the experiences in that game that make it unique. I’m pumped resident evil finally has first person. I felt that’s what ithe was always missing. I actually considered putting Dead Island on the list. I did like that game, it just didn’t make the cut. I will be expanding the list soon though. Thanks for the comment and for reading this post.
